Experience Gozo

A few minutes from Malta by boat, Gozo, wilder than her sister Island Malta, will surprise you!

It offers a unique and unforgettable experience. Precisely because Gozo’s landscape and culture are different to those of Malta, even the Maltese feel themselves in another country when visiting Gozo, and many Maltese families own holiday homes here.

Dedicate at least one day to be seduced by the unique beauty and charm of Gozo, a small island which is very different from Malta where lush greenery marries inspiring hilly landscapes and where pristine countryside meets marine ecology.

Our Gozo Day Tours:

Although the island Gozo measures only 14 Km x 7 Km, it offers a unique and unforgettable experience. Precisely because Gozo’s landscape and culture are different to those of Malta, even the Maltese feel themselves in another country when visiting Gozo, and many families own holiday homes here.

Our Gozo Day Tour is organised according to the client’s wishes and requirements. We offer a standard package which consists of:

Safari  Gozo Tour : Jeep Safari guided tour and lunch at Ta’ Mena Estate

The Gozo Jeep Safari is probably the best way to see the island of Gozo, where we take you to all the places of interest that our sister island can offer and drive through beautiful countryside and valleys, taking different routes from your ‘normal’ excursions. You will be collected from your accommodation at approximately 7:30am and taken to the Jeep Safari Terminal from where the Safari departs for the Gozo Ferry. Upon arrival in Gozo, we will start our Safari to discover the magical island of Calypso. We drive to the village of Qala and then onto Nadur, down to the red sandy beach of Ramla l-Ħamra (Ramla Bay) and then onto the very quaint village of Xagħra. From here we go onto Victoria, Gozo’s Capital City where we will stop for some free time and also lunch. After lunch we head off for Marsalforn which is a very popular tourist resort and then onto Dwejra with its ‘Inland Sea’ and Azure Window. From Dwejra we head to the Fishing Village of Xlendi and then back to the ferry.

We will return to the Safari Terminal at approximately 6:00pm from where you will be collected once again and taken back to your accommodation.Bespoke Jeep Tour

Agritourism estate – vineyards, olive groves, fruit tree orchards and vegetable farm
  •  Winery

For those who have the passion for wine, you will be given the opportunity to visit wineries, vineyards, taste wines and even purchase wine directly from the source. At our wine estate a typical wine tour starts with a historical introduction of wine making in the Maltese Islands, followed by a visit to our vineyards. The tour can also be extended to our winery which is only three minutes away by car. You will be given the opportunity to taste the different wines produced in our boutique winery, as well as purchase wines from our retail outlet located at the wine estate. You will understand the different processes involved in wine production giving an insight into the various aspects of wine making according to the region where it is being produced.

Throughout the wine tour you will be guided by our wine expert who will give first hand information about our viticulture methods, detailed information about our wines, the process of wine making and how one should taste wine to understand and enjoy it better.  The wine tasting sessions are also accompanied by some of our typical preserved food such as sundried tomato paste, capers, olives, Gozo peppered cheese-lets and some pâtés.

During the grape harvest season you may also take an active part in the grape harvest and observe the wine making process in our state-of-the-art winery.

  •  Foods

At the estate we produce typical Gozitan foods. We use traditional recipes which were used by our ancestors who did not have the luxury of refrigeration but who still had to provide for the winter season.

Their valuable skill was the use of the Mediterranean Sun and natural preservatives, particularly marine salt, to preserve several foods and beverages namely the Sun Dried Sweet Tomato Paste, the Sun Dried Tomatoes, Wild Capers in Vinegar and the Prickly Pear Liqueur.

You will be invited to involve themselves in fruit & vegetable picking and experience the preparation of these traditional food products which include:

Sun dried tomato paste
Sun dried tomatoes
Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Olives in Brine
Gozo peppered cheese-lets
Pickled Onions
Gozo honey
Carob Syrup
Various Fruit Jams (pomegranate, prickly pear, fig, orange, melon, apple, strawberry, plum)
Seville Orange Marmalade
Candied Peel
Prickly Pear and Pomegranate Liqueurs
Prickly Pear and Pomegranate Dessert Wines
Chutneys
Capers in Vinegar
Traditional Sweets and Biscuits

At our Agritourism Estate you will be immersed in the typical Gozitan countryside, surrounded by the natural and calm environment with breathtaking views. The estate is situated in the picturesque Marsalforn Valley between Victoria and Marsalforn Bay. The estate includes a fruit garden, an olive grove with about 1500 olive trees, an orange grove, and over ten hectares of vineyards. It enjoys the panoramic views of the Gozo Citadel and the surrounding hills and villages.

It is situated less than 3 kilometers from the blue Mediterranean Sea within easy reach of the fishing village of Marsalforn and the world famous Ramla Bay with its sandy beach, overlooked by the legendary cave of the Nymph Calypso. The estate is an excellent point of departure for interesting sightseeing tours of the extensive heritage found in Gozo. This includes the Neolithic Ggantija Temples which are the oldest free standing buildings in the world dating back over 5,500 years; the Citadel with its outstanding bastions, the Archeology Museum and the Cathedral, the geological park of Dwejra with its Azure Window and all the exceptional churches, various museums and other places of interest in the different villages of the island.

At the estate we cultivate vines, olives, lemons, oranges, various fruit trees, strawberries, tomatoes, melons, water melons and other vegetables. We produce our own wine in a state of the art winery, press our olives to produce a unique cold pressed extra virgin olive oil in our modern olive press and produce various typical liqueurs and foods from our different fruit, vegetables and herbs. Our sundried tomato paste is a must to try!

We also organise guided tours around the estate followed by wine and food tasting sessions, which can include light lunches.  Hands on agricultural experiences are also available during the harvest seasons.

The estate offers an experience with a difference with its particular spots and self catering apartments. We can also offer accommodation in typical rustic farmhouses completed with all amenities and private swimming pools.
